“ Spiced Earl Gray latte to die for. Delicious pastries. Try the ones labeled "cheese bread," they're more like cornmeal pancakes. Super affordable, don't know why it's marked as $$ on Yelp ”
“ If you want some very delicious empanadas, I recommend trying Milohas. I know there are other good empanada places in the area, however; none of them have that delicious sauce that comes with the empanadas. This is what makes them stand out for me and my family. Try it out and don't forget to buy extra sauce, I guarantee that you won't regret it! ”
“ I've stopped by here a number of times, since it's in the same plaza where my son gets his hair cut. Funny enough I must mention that my son's name is Milo so this place is extra special to me, haha! Anyway, we've had various empanadas/breads: cheese bread, guava bread, pizza empanada, beef empanada, etc. They've all been delicious! You can warm it up at home or ask them to warm it up for you. Service is very fast and the prices are reasonable. ”
“ Excellent pastries! For a quick snack, the 2 of us got a single small beef potato empanada and a single guava finger for $10 total. The pastry itself is extremely light, soft, and flaky. The beef potato is nice and hearty, goes really well with their chimichurri sauce. The guava finger was also really tasty. I would definitely come back. It would be nice to try their tamal given how good our first experience was. The service was friendly and fast. ”
“ Finally got a chance to try the Beef Empanada. A good portion of ground beef which tasted even better with the chimichurri sauce! The guava finger was sweet and delicious. The roll was similar to sausage roll like soft, breaded, & moist. ”
“ I drove from Milpitas if that says anything! Best spot for empanadas and all the goodies you can get. I love how simple the menu is, but still has such a great variety of fillings for your empanada cravings. The ambiance really allows for you to feel that home baked feeling, and the taste is incredible. Definitely worth stopping by and trying. ”
“ This is a great spot for Colombian bites. As is the case with most ethnic foods, it's been slightly modified to meet the local market, but I think for the better. The empenada crust is way better. It's light crispy and buttery, but with lots of meat. It's a clean and simple shop primarily for takeout with friendly service. ”
“ We were around the area so we decided to stop by since I had this place bookmarked for a while! Parking was easy and there was no long line :-) We ordered: - 2 guava fingers - 1 chicken potato empanada - 2 beef empanadas - guava juice - passionfruit juice We opted for our pastries to be warmed up and honestly, I'm so glad we did! The guava fingers were a delight; crispy upon layers and layers. The empanadas were both really well seasoned but I think I preferred the chicken potato. Their small side/container of sauce is what really makes it. The juices were probably our favorite part. It's been blazing hot in SJ, and these juices were refreshing and not too thick. It was the perfect consistency. Service was friendly. There's a few tables for outdoor seating but honestly, it was pretty nice how they packed our order for take out. Overall, we'd return to try more if we're in the area :-) ”
“ Copy and pasted from their website: "The name "Milohas" comes from the Spanish words "mil hojas," which mean one thousand layers, just like the dough in our pastries." Quality/Quantity - Geez, do I just over buy or what...? Wanted to try a little of everything. Another business that makes their products by hand daily, see my Stan Donut Yelp, that I visited this morning. Today we got the following empanadas: Super Beef Super Chicken - Generous chicken. My wife and I were able to split one for a whole meal. But then look at all the desserts we bought... Mushroom & Quinoa And for dessert... Guava Finger Pandebono with Guava - Dryer than expected, but overall it was okay. Milhojas - Their speciality! This was not easy to eat. When I took a bite, the middle part of the cookie/crackers slid out the back. This was messy. Flan - Not so sweet, just the way I like it. Very hearty, and almost dry like...? Pineapple Empanada - This was good, but it did not need all that sugar on top. I almost got some ice cream, but at 106 degrees today, I skipped it. They give you the option to heat it up for you, but as you can tell with the quantity I bought, I will be heating it up as we eat it. She also gave me directions; 350 degrees for approximately 9-10 minutes for the meat items and only 5 minutes for the dessert items. Wait, I just noticed there are fried empanadas. Atmosphere - Small local business. Outdoor seating only. But mostly everyone takes to-go. Open 7 days a week from 7:30am or 8:30am to 6pm or 7pm; see my picture or Yelp. Service - Good. She was very patient with me as a first time customer. Price - $58, we way overbought... Reasonably priced for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1999 and since 2014 at this location. ”
